The Mystery of Grace
If you could put discipleship into one word, it’s a “mystery”.
I originally thought of the word “scandal” because of the song “Scandal Of Grace” by Hillsong, but reading upon the meaning and it’s origins I thought that there’s another word to describe it. Another word to grasp the thought in another perspective.
It’s mystery for a fact that I and even most of the people who encountered it so often could not explain why. Why good still reigns over the bad. Why our value still shines after the dirt. Why our healing still exists amidst the pain. And why God still loves us even after plenty of mistakes small or big.
It baffled me for a second how broken people can love other broken people. Because I myself was doing it and I couldn’t even concretely say why I was doing it other than reason of love.
Grace. Unmerited favour. though undeserved, we receive it anyway. That’s how it works. That’s how it has always been. That’s how it will be for years to come. And that’s the love of God.
If you believe in it, great!
If you don’t believe in it, God still loves you.
If you haven’t experienced the mysterious movement of grace yet, it’s okay.
You’ll know it when it’s there.
